Modi's instructions to ministers: arrive at office on time, avoid working from home

Time to reach office and prevent being able to set an example to others at home-these were some of the guidelines given to the Council of Ministers by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. The Prime Minister also requested senior ministers, according to sources, to hold the new head of the Council of Ministers at the first session following Modified dispensation last month.

In an attempt to give ministers of state more function, he stated that the cabinet ministers should share significant documents with them. It would improve productivity, he said.Modi stated that both the Minister of Cabinet and his junior colleague could meet to make clear proposals in order to ensure quicker approval on documents.

In particular, Modi stressed timeliness, that all ministers should arrive in office in due course and spend a few minutes talking to the authorities about recent developments. He also said that Ministers should regularly come to office and prevent working from home.

They should at the same moment meet on a periodic basis with party MPs and the public at large and can begin with parliamentarian meetings of their respective countries, implying that there is little distinction between a Minister and a parliamentary representative.

Modi also spoke about the five-year agenda that must be formulated by every ministry. In the first 100 days of government an impactful choice is needed. In the prior government, Tomar was the parliamentary business minister. Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman delivered a lecture on the invitation to input into the Union budget on 5 July.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal produced a presentation for each Union Ministry on a five-year vision paper, according to the sources. In the prior tenure of the Government of Modi, the Council of Ministers met regularly. He used to inform them about the multiple social security systems of the government and how individuals could become conscious of them.

Modi used to evaluate important ministries and sectors ‘ performance. On Wednesday, too, the Union Cabinet will meet in the run-up to the Ministerial Council meeting. The ministers of state play a main role in the Parliament meeting starting next week, as they will be accountable for dealing with parliamentary issues tabled by most of the ministries in this House.

Ministers of cabinet generally address questions to be answered orally. The government of Modi authorized at its first cabinet session the extension of the KISAN-PM system for all farmers who receive Rs 6,000 per annum of economic help.
